Hubert Schaafsma started his career as a deck-officer for the Dutch merchant navy. After moving ashore in 1995, he worked for a number of companies including Ship Owners & Charterers, Shippers and Shipyards.
In recent years Hubert Schaafsma has put great emphasis on the value of B2B marketing & business development for the shipping business. He has implemented market intelligence systems for shipowners and shipyards. He developed a charter strategy for containerships for P&O Nedlloyd and Maersk Line.
He designed maritime marketing strategies including big data and market intelligence programs which were used for sustainable growth programs.
Hubert’s maritime career spans more than twenty years so he values the history and the traditions, but he also challenges the business. He combines the expertise and the values of the company with the modern techniques of business to reach your goals and likes to say “Navigare necesse est”!
